THE PRESENT VERSUS THE END

I Grew up in a church that taught us to be ready for the end of the world before I was 10.

I became confused as the same people who spoke so eloquently on preparing for the end struggled greatly with the present.

I spent most of my teenage confused about this and when I crashed out of med school , my business brain came alive and made quite a few which I didn’t know how to keep . Since then I have learnt from my mistakes and stabilized and even gone on to multiply.

The core of this message is , what are we supposed to be preparing for?

I will say both because it’s irresponsible not to mind your affairs here just because you waiting for Jesus?
Yet, it’s grossly irresponsible to hold on to things so tightly that you forget Heaven is our home?

The Bible makes it clear Jesus is coming back there is no argument about this , what is still not clear to many is when? And even more unclear is How?

One thing is sure, we all need to accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour and after this we need to persevere so we can make it till the end.

My conclusion on this matter is to carry on working hard to take care of my business and still hold on loosely to those things so that I can drop it at anytime I’m asked as more importantly use them to bless others when required.

I’m just incensed to see many Christians not fulfilling potential under the guise that Jesus is coming back. I eagerly await the coming of my king but as I wait , I occupy till He comes.
